In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the chopped grapefruit flesh, vanilla extract, grapefruit juice, and brown sugar. Stir all ingredients thoroughly to ensure they are well mixed. Cover the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
